Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Senses Confirmed sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Senses
Posted: 18:26 Thu 20-Mar-2008. Price: 45p. Location: Balintore Post Office and Store, Ross-Shire.
"It's lovely.. like Kinder Bueno without so much crunch," posts "painey", but the pic comes courtesy of "Highland Fling", who reports: 1st time excited spotter (long time lurker)... great to see some recent Inverness sightings, but you need more input from even further up in the Highlands!... we do get a few things first up here!... nice to find a site filled with fellow enthusiasts... So, the important bit... (I will normally ramble slightly less...) KitKat Senses - they are indeed a lot like Kinder Bueno (as a previous poster suggested), but seem somehow more substantial/ satisfying; I think this is due to the instantly recognisable KitKat wafer at the bottom, a lot more sturdy than the Bueno wafer. Very nice indeed! Oh, and there is small print sideways-on, on the wrapper edge "Senses signifie Sensations en Francais". In case that bit interests anyone. Thought not.

...Well, don't rule it out "HF" - they're known as "Kit Kat Temptations" in Australia, where they're also available in Caramel Fudge or Coconut Eclair. Or, if you're looking for something more Easter-y, "Zeddy" seemed underwhelmed by this Princess Marshmallow egg (40p, Somerfield, Larkhall, Lanarkshire), relenting: "I was really looking forward to this! Princess marshmallow wrapped in a chocolate egg. The chocolate thickness resembled Creme Eggs of yore. That was its good point. The marshmallow with it did not go well. In fact I thought it tasted cheap and nasty. No more for me, well, ok, maybe one more. I bought 2 you see." Thank goodness for the Lindt Fig and Caramel Mousse chocolate eggs he found for 4 Euros in Munich, Germany, which are: "Very nice. Dark chocolate coated fig, caramel and mousse eggs. They have a fruitiness associated to the figs but still have the sharp taste of good plain chocolate. Doubt we will see them in the UK."

Comment: I thought the Kit Kat Bueno was rather too sweet like the caramel and passion fruit(?) ones they did a couple of years ago.

Comment: i've been quite horrified to see this referred to in the press as 'low calorie' kit-kats. really not! may be fewer calories than a 4 finger kit-kat, but hello: portion sizes journalists!

Comment: I enjoyed the extra quantity of hazelnut filling you get here compared to Bueno. But a single finger really isn't enough for the money they're charging for this. I suspect I'll stick with Kinder's version.

In Easter egg news, the Cadbury "egg with no box" is an interesting development, and a nice way to hop on the current fad for all things environmentally friendly.

Comment: has anyone else noticed that cadbury's mini eggs are horrible this year? i think they've stopped using dairy milk inside the crisp sugar shell. :(

Comment: These are very nice, definitely like Kinder Bueno, but a lot more chocolate, and vegetable oil chocolate at that (as Nestle choc tends to be).

Currently available for purchase at Netto :)

Comment: Family Milk chocolate as it is called in the EU. What the hell's wrong with cocoa butter? Oh, right veg oil is cheaper!

Comment: Re the Princess Marshmallow egg:- I think it's just 'missing' something...remember those toffee and mallow eggs? A strip of soft caramel stuff and these would be fine!

Comment: I noticed on cybercandy they have a cookie dough chunky kit kat that looks very tempting. Not sure what country it's from. Has anyone tried it?

Comment: Does anyone know how much saturated fat is in the Kit Kat Senses bar? There is a lot of print on those wrappers, but nothing that means anything!!

Comment: When you eat chocolate you have to switch off from nutrition Emma! It's not going to be the most nutritous thing in the world, but hey it tastes good, and it's not worth cutting it out just because it's not super-healthy. Nor is it evil. If you like it, eat it in moderation and you'll be healthy and happy. Trust me. I'm someone who exiled it from my diet completely for a very very long time.

Comment: I didn't like these. They seem like a cheapo version of a Bueno. The filling was hard, not creamy like a Bueno, and it was generally crumbly and a bit tasteless. Zeddy's reminded me of the mango and passion fruit ones they did 3 years ago - got my mouth watering, they were lovely! They did orange ones as well! Mmmm!

Comment: Anyone got hold of a kinder bueno white yet? I got hold of a promo copy which you can see here http://chocolatemission.blogspot.com/2008/04/april-3rd-kinder-bueno-white.html To be honest it wasnt all that different from a normal bueno.

If only the KitKat Senses came in a bigger pack..would be so much better. Im sure this is something Nestle will look into though.

Comment: oh I really like these and I don't like Kinder Bueno at all!
Posted: 22:32 Tue 17-Jun-2008 by "Jay" # permalink comment
Comment: I gave them another chance and bought another one the other day. It was nicer than the last one I had, but still not up to Bueno standard! Also, far too small. I also bought a White Bueno - lovely!

I wish they'd bring back the fruity Kit Kats (mango, seville orange etc.) - thinking of them makes my mouth water! Peanut Butter Kit Kats are my favourite ever chocolate bars though!
