Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Dairy Milk Apricot Crumble Crunch Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Dairy Milk Apricot Crumble Crunch
Posted: 19:43 Thu 28-Aug-2008. Price: 52p. Location: Scotmid, Strathaven, Scotland. Sub-flavours: Cranberry and Granola. Nutritional unusualness: 16% apricots, 225kcal per bar.
Zeddy reports: I came across these at the checkout. I had forgotten that Cadbury had announced their launch. They have pieces of dried fruit and crunchy/biscuity pieces as well. The cranberry one has a sweet fruitiness to it that is slightly different to other CDM bars. The apricot one is good... if you like apricots. I applaud Cadbury for trying something a tad different.

...An incredibly quick-off-the-mark sighting from Zeddy today, with a product that's not supposed to be in shops until September 8th. Cadbury are also launching tubs of Chocolate Cake Bites (2.49, in Choc Chip, Caramel or Triple Choc Crisp) - just part of their never-ending battle against the likes of Penguin Wafer with Calcium, Penguin Big Stix, and Penguin Bakes.

Elsewhere, in other crunchy munches, "Cinnamon Grahams have been renamed Curiously Cinnamon, not sure why, they are just the same inside the box," complains "Kris Cochrane", who continues: "It would also appear that one of my old favourites, Golden Grahams have now been discontinued - I need to call the Nestle helpline for some counselling." Sorry I can't be of more help, "Kris" - I'm having enough trouble trying to tell the difference between Weetabix Weetos Meteors (1.99/375g, Sainsbury) and Kellogg's Coco Pops Moons and Stars (2.19/350g, Morrisons).

Comment: The Apricot Crumble one is delicous, weird texture for a bar but spot on and tastes very nice. Just enough choc to apricot taste. The Cranberry one is not so nice, tastes too much of choc. I've seen it in 200g bars too, slightly smaller than the usual big CDM bars but still around the same price

Comment: Ugh! These are so rubbish. What is wrong with cadbury nowadays? It Used to be pretty good at one point. The Apricot one is ok. It dosnt taste of much, just has a weird texture. The Cranberry one? What were they thinking. It tastes like a slightly overly chocolaty cereal bar! If i wanted a cereal bar id eat one and save like 100 calories in the process. (k rant over :)

Comment: cadbury is also doing a campaign based on the new range of chocolate bars, which i'm promoting at the moment. You can design your own chocolate bar from a range of flavours and have a chance for your suggestion to be made as a one-off and sent to you through the post! Try it on http://www.aglassandahalffullproductions.com/#/factory/

Comment: Just tried both - the apricot one is so much better than I was expecting! The best bits of the biscuit CDM (which I can't seem to find any more) and the fruit of fruit & nut but without the nut! I'm a convert! The cranberry and granola is a bit weird. Granola just doesn't have the right texture in chocolate. The cranberry is average.

Comment: I liked the Apricot Crumble Crunch. I expect it has been de-listed as they have done with all my favourites like Old Jamaica and (a very long time ago) Fruit Sundae. I liked them because they had fruit instead of nuts.
