Click pic to view comments - Semi-international sighting: Twix Cappuccino Semi-international sighting: Twix Cappuccino
Posted: 19:03 Sat 31-Jan-2009. Price: 5 for 1. Location: Discount Store, Newcastle.
"Phillerena" reports: I've had this wrapper for a while and finally got round to scanning it. It's ages since I tasted it but from memory it was pretty much just a regular Twix with a subtle coffee flavour. It was a nice change, and especially good dipped in real coffee, but nothing too exciting. Gone are the days now when you could get 5 chocolate bars for 1 so I suppose I should cherish the memory.

...Further discount-store discoveries from "Phillerena" here (I've called it a Semi-international sighting because the internet implies that the Cappuccino version is usually native to Poland?). Elsewhere, "My local (Loughborough) Tesco have started stocking Reese's Pieces," reported "natalie", who has "Only spotted the small bags so far (43g, 54p) but was so amazed that I instantly grabbed ten bags."

And in other unexpected brand-extensions: there's no arguing with the "Melt In The Middle" aspect of Terry's Chocolate Orange Puddings (2.14 for 2, Asda), but I'm surprised Kraft didn't stick with the traditional triangular shape for Toblerone Cookies (also Asda, 1.09 for pack of 4 or 5). And if you're wondering what Cadbury are up to in the new year, keep an eye out for Dairy Milk Hot Choc Chunks and Betty Bassett's Red Liquorice Allsorts.

Comment: You know, I can guarantee that the Reese's are found in Fenwick's department store, Newcastle. Also, I'm sure my local Woolworth's sold them

Comment: They are.

Also I had some Reeces Pieces from Tesco recently. They were awful!

Comment: noticed the Red Liquorice in my local Tesco the other day, on offer with normal Allsorts.

It seems they're getting rid of the old Fruit Allsorts though - and I was always partial to the odd bag or two of those.

Whatever happened to Dessert Allsorts?!
